Attempting a 5K

Well one of the things on my bucket list is to run a 5K. I don't know what it is that make people enjoy running.I never have.Maybe there is a technique to it that I am unaware of, I certainly see a lot of my friends post about but and it completely goes over my head. Google is probably my best ally but yeah running never really caught my interest that much to make me want to read up.Anyway call it FOMO but when Muscat Marathon happened this year,part of me wanted to do it for the glory and a smaller part of me kept reminding myself that it needed to be done.It was now or never time and so I registered myself. Shiven was going anyway no doubts there.He was mad enough that he had to miss Spartan,there was no way he was going to miss another 'medal op'
And so after a lot of excuses that were made up and shot down in my head,off I went.It was such a mixed feeling.To feeling thrilled at the start to a bit lonely in the middle to tired midway before water break to motivated to 'jog' faster when I saw the finish line, that 5K was a mixed bag of a whole lot of emotions and it was done.Did I enjoy it?Cant say for sure but I did suffer for the next three days discovering muscles I never knew existed in my body thanks to pain.Will I do it again?I'm not sure yet but the bucket list has now been ticked on that account and I have the 10K staring at my face for now.
